After one and a half years the Pixel Ink fashion boutique, art gallery and illustration studio is about to close its Newtown doors.
Pixel Ink owner's Rosalind Clark and Glen Cooper have announced that the Pixel Ink Gallery will be moving to a new space at the rear of existing Cuba Street store.
“We are fortunate that the concept we started in Newtown can extend to our Cuba Street store which is a great space and double the size”, says Clark.
The new gallery space will officially open on the 24th of March.
Wellington based emerging illustrative artist, Rachel Walker has been confirmed for the premier opening exhibition.
This will be Walker's debut solo show and will run from the 24th of March to the 11th of April.
The exhibition titled “The Jellyfish Crossroads”, named after one of the paintings, is a collection of works loosely exploring interesting animals, characters, and pattern.
In this series of new works Walker uses watercolour combined with sketchy linework and spraypainted stencils.
“We are very excited to have Rachel onboard as her artworks are amazing and a great fit with what the gallery is about,” says Clark.
The revamped Pixel Ink fashion boutique and art gallery on Cuba Street will continue to stock great New Zealand made boutique fashion labels, alongside rotating art exhibition by local artists.
