Sweet treats, sculpture, and SuperPower packs

Enough sweet treats to make those with a sweet tooth sigh, original pieces of New Zealand sculpture, and packs to help super-size your SuperPowers are some of the items in a charity auction aimed at raising funds as part of Plunket’s Annual Appeal.

Plunket is asking Kiwis to Be a SuperHero for Under Fives and keep an eye out in their local areas for staff and volunteers doing their bit to raise funds for one of New Zealand’s best-loved not-for-profit organisations.

“The Trade Me auction and Annual Appeal are a fantastic chance to raise awareness of the many and varied services Plunket continues to offer the families of New Zealand,” Plunket commercial manager Brendan Holland says.

Items on offer in the auction include a box of Whittaker’s chocolate bars, tickets to the Royal New Zealand Ballet’s Meridian Season of Carmen and the Montana World of WearableArt Awards, a piece of original sculpture by Wairarapa artist Sean Crawford, flowers for three months, an Ashley Fogel coat and signed photographs of Outrageous Fortune cast members.

The SuperPower packs are limited edition packs with everything a budding SuperHero needs: a mask, cape, gloves and lucky underwear.

Plunket’s Annual Appeal runs until 28 March. To view auction items visit www.trademe.co.nz/plunket

Plunket also has a colourful Annual Appeal website, www.superheroes.co.nz , where you can SuperHero yourself or nominate your own hero. You can also text ‘hero’ to 883 – texts cost $3 each – or fly down to your local BNZ store to make a donation.

Please note that anyone collecting for Plunket during Annual Appeal will be identifiable as an official collector.
