What Are You Waiting For?
What Are You Waiting For?
25 March 2010
There is only one Doug. And there is only one Mexi-Doug Instant Kiwi Costume. What are you waiting for?
The hottest
outfit in New Zealand - Mexi-Doug’s iconic costume from
the Instant Kiwi ads - is up for auction now on TradeMe, to
support WWF’s Earth Hour.
This is not a costume. This is your destiny.
Douglas and Mexi-Doug appear in candle-light in special Earth Hour editions of the Instant Kiwi ads, running on TV3 with the tag line ‘in the spirit of Earth Hour’. The ‘ads in the dark’ have been created to help spread the message that Earth Hour – the global lights out event for action on climate change - is happening this Saturday at 8.30pm.
Own the real outfit of the Mexi-Doug. Touch it in your hands. Feel it against your skin. Be the Mexican. Say ‘get a perm’. Tell your female work colleagues they all look awesome.
The box contains everything you need to recreate yourself as Mexi-Doug, from the Earth Hour edition of the Instant Kiwi ad.
In the box:
The original shirt and tie worn by
Mexi-Doug
Candles, so you can make every hour Earth
Hour
$50 of Instant Kiwi tickets to scratch by
candlelight while you sit in your bueno costume waiting for
the ladies.
The auction closes at 8.30pm on Saturday 27 March – the start of Earth Hour, when WWF is asking people to switch their lights off to show they support action on climate change.
Sources close to Mexi-Doug reported he had this advice for New Zealanders:
“It’s only a matter of time before other people see it.
“Put a bid on.
“What are you waiting for?
“All the pesos from the auction will be donated to WWF, the bonito ones behind Earth Hour. Together we will save the shores of Mexico and other great nations from the effects of climate change. Muchos gracias.”
WWF’s Executive Director Chris Howe said: “This auction is fully in the spirit of Earth Hour, and we thank everyone involved in Instant Kiwi ads in the dark –the team at DDB, NZ Lotteries, Clemenger BBDO, TradeMe and of course Mexi-Doug himself.”
Earth Hour 2010 is set to be a landmark moment on global warming, showing the world what can be done when Mexi-Doug is on your side.
