The Mint Chicks
Generate Buzz
Rumours circulate on the bands demise
after their last live show
After the Mint Chicks Bacco Room show on March 12th, 2010 rumor and speculation about the bands demise have popped up across the music web-sphere.
The Mint Chicks have not broken up. In fact they want their fans to get involved and creative with their music. The band is using the promotional platform MusicHype to work with their fans to crowd source a video for their hit single “Bad Buzz” and a new official Mint Chicks T-shirt.
"Right now half of the band are in Portland and half are in New Zealand.” says Ruban Nielson of the Mint Chicks. "We're taking a break from playing live for a while to concentrate on writing a new album and concentrate on some projects like the video and t-shirt competition and some other upcoming stuff too. Can't wait to see what people are going to offer up."
"A lot of people have been asking us what happened at the Bacco Room," says Annabel Youens, MusicHype Digital Strategist. "Well, for $3 you can watch the video from the night and judge for yourself. But for us the most exciting part of our work with the Mint Chicks is happening right now. We've got lots of people entering the video and t-shirt competition. It's going to be pretty impressive what comes out."
With the release of their new hit EP “Bad Buzz” the Mint Chicks are asking fans to create the official music video for their catchy single “Bad Buzz”. Using their mobile phone, video camera, 8mm or even play-dough fans have the opportunity to create visual footage for the track. The grand prize winner will have their video aired exclusively on MTV NZ for the launch week, followed by feature placement on major music channels around the world.
At the same time artists are encouraged to design the new official Mint Chicks T-shirt, with the grand prize winner, getting a design credit, a cut of the sales and a sweet prize pack.
Artists and video teams have until April 18th to get their entries loaded onto www.musichype.com.
The MusicHype community will decide the top three finalists for the video and t-shirt category by voting and ranking the designs and videos online.
