Plunket Foundation launches

The Plunket Foundation, a charitable trust established to raise funds to further Plunket’s ability to lead in the delivery of care and support for young New Zealanders, has officially launched.

The Foundation’s mission is to seek donations from New Zealanders who can help it add to Plunket’s ability to lead in the delivery of support for families in the future.

The aim over the coming years is to establish an endowment fund to support initiatives that Plunket would otherwise not be able to resource.

The Plunket Foundation will not replace Plunket’s existing funding sources. It will support vital research and development, and fund projects that will strive for positive outcomes for children, families and communities in New Zealand.
The Foundation is chaired by Katherine Rich, currently CEO of the Food and Grocery Council and a former MP.

“Over time we look forward to funding a range of innovative Plunket projects, which wouldn’t otherwise be possible without the generous donations of caring New Zealanders”.

“We acknowledge our first significant donation from the KPS Society Ltd, which has allowed us to get off to an excellent start in building a significant endowment fund for the Foundation”

The other Plunket Foundation trustees are former National Party leader and Reserve Bank governor Dr Don Brash, former Plunket president and long-time volunteer Kaye Crowther, Director of the Dunedin Multidisciplinary Health and Development Research Unit Richie Poulton, and professional company director Peter Wilson.
