Poppy Appeal Starts Monday 19 April
2010
The Returned and Service’s
Association (RSA) annual Poppy Appeal starts Monday 19 April
and runs through to Anzac Day with the traditional Poppy Day
Street Collection on Friday 23 April.
Chief Executive Dr Stephen Clarke says the annual appeal is the RSA’s major fundraising campaign and allows local RSAs to continue to help veterans and their families.
Donations made to the Poppy Day Appeal support welfare services for returned and ex-service personnel in the local area in which the funds are raised.
Donations can also be made via TXT POPPY to 2447 and online at www.anzacpoppy.com.
Dr Clarke says, “New Zealander’s generosity each year shows that the ANZAC spirit continues to live. It is through these donations that our 250 RSAs across the country can help those veterans and their families in need.”
