The Yummy Mummy: Nurtition and Exercise Book
THE YUMMY MUMMY
A nutrition and exercise toolkit for remodelling your post-baby body
By Nadia Holland
‘The Yummy Mummy’ is the perfect book for new mums looking to get back into shape after childbirth, from a woman who knows first-hand what works and what doesn’t.
Mum-of-two, Nadia Holland put on an extra 30 kilos during pregnancy. After the birth of her first baby, she slowly shed this additional weight, only to frustratingly put it all back on again when she fell pregnant with her second child. As Nadia recognised, her attitude towards diet needed to change; ‘My biggest mistake was that I treated my first pregnancy as a nutritional free for all.’ Based on Nadia’s own weight-loss journey as she gradually (and healthily) shifted the weight after her second child, ‘The Yummy Mummy’ is the author’s tried and tested post-natal nutrition and exercise toolkit for real mums.
In collaboration with a registered dietician, Nadia has devised a healthy eating programme with nourishing, family-friendly and budget-conscious recipes, together with an easy-to-follow illustrated exercise plan, specifically intended to shift the post-baby bulge.
Nadia believes that real mums can take control of their eating habits and exercise patterns through a long-term approach to healthy eating and exercise and her tips and plans are designed to make these goals achievable. ‘The Yummy Mummy’ shows post-pregnancy mums how to keep the weight off and how to end up with the ultimate reward of looking and feeling fantastic.
Dealing with common questions about post-natal weight loss in a Q&A format and tips and tricks on getting started and keeping motivated for long-term success, Nadia’s fact-based easy-to-follow style gives new mums the confidence they need to regain control of their weight, and enjoy this unique and special time with their baby.
Nadia Holland lost a phenomenal 30kg after the birth of her first baby – then put it back on – then lost it again, losing a total of 72 kilos! She has a Ph.D in Mass Communication, an MA in journalism and a BA in linguistics. In her prechildren career, Nadia worked as a lecturer and as a copy-editor/proofreader.
Since leaving work to have children, Nadia has advised numerous women on post-baby weight loss. She currently lives in Wellington.
