Young Fan Takes On The
Blues With The Help Of Mercury
Energy
Seven year old Beachlands boy Luke
McLennan’s rugby dreams will come true this weekend when
he and a team of mates get to take on the Blues in the
Mercury Energy Rugby Club’s ‘Backyard Footy’
competition.
As the winner of Mercury Energy’s ‘Backyard Footy’ competition, Luke gets to name the venue for a friendly game between his team and a mini squad of eight Blues players followed by an after match barbeque with his heroes. He’ll also receive a signed personalised Blues jersey as a memento.
Luke’s chosen venue is his
local Beachlands/Maraetai RFC and a mixture of friends and
team mates will be taking to the field to take on the Blues
on Saturday (May 22).
The excited young rugby fan was
ecstatic when he heard the news. “I’m a huge fan of the
Blues and can’t wait to meet the team and get them to sign
my jersey.”
