Publicis Mojo Create A Look That Has Fringe Benefits!

The Auckland Fringe are delighted to announce that Publicis Mojo was the victor in a closely fought competition that pitted creative minds against one another in the 1 hour Adshel Creative Challenge on Wednesday July 28, supported by StopPress.

Around 70 creatives from 14 agencies joined in the challenge to represent the vision of the 2011 Auckland Fringe on an Adshel poster. There were beautiful flowery turds, a range of moderately offensive slogans and even a picture of a woman smoking a baby in a pipe! But only one idea could be the winner and it was Publicis Mojo’s design which included the slogan ‘Leave with more questions than answers’ that was chosen as the best idea to represent the Auckland Fringe.

The gorgeous Civic Theatre stage was a perfect setting for the challenge, it worked to inspire the creatives and let them step into the world of the performer. The talented Morgana O’Reilly and Gareth Williams further set the scene, where they performed exerts from their solo theatre shows. The creative brief was then laid down by the 2011 Auckland Fringe director Sally Barnett. Entrants then had one hour to work on the brief, which was judged by a select group from Adshel, StopPress, Auckland Fringe and Oliver Maisey, formerly of M&C Saatchi.

Publicis Mojo have earned an outdoor campaign with Adshel, with 130 panels for the Auckland Fringe and 130 for a client of their choice, an Auckland Fringe/THE EDGE ticket package and a dinner voucher to Toto’s restaurant – a prize package totaling over $125,000!

“We were thrilled that Adshel chose Auckland Fringe to be the focus of this amazing event. As a judge it was fantastic to see the creative energy flowing in the room and the diversity of the resulting concepts that could represent the Fringe in 2011. We look forward to working with Publicis Mojo to further develop the winning entry!” Auckland Fringe Director Sally Barnett
