Pick Me MTV!

Pick Me MTV!

MTV NZ is looking for fresh blood. We’re on the hunt for a brand new MTV presenter.

This is the job of a lifetime!

MTV NZ is embarking on a nationwide search in starting Monday 23rd August to find its next star presenter. New Zealanders can simply visit pickmemtv.co.nz for details on how to put themselves forward.

Wannabe presenters should upload a clip showing us your talents telling us why we should pick you as the next MTV presenter. Entries should be no longer than two minutes and can be recorded on a phone or camera. We’re not looking for highly produced award-winning clips, just good talent.

Candidates will be put to a public vote via pickmemtv.co.nz with MTV New Zealand fans helping to determine the Top 50 candidates. Through a series of challenges, MTV will whittle it down to the Top 5. From these final five candidates, a winner will be chosen.

MTV is looking for someone who can bring his or her own unique brand of individuality to the channel. We’ll be keeping an eye out for strong and confident personalities with lots of attitude and the ability to talk to a wide range of artists, musicians and celebrities.

To top things off, the winner will travel on assignment to Madrid, Spain to cover the MTV European Music Awards alongside current MTV presenter Jay Reeve showing him or her the ropes. Mixing and mingling with the stars. Attending the hottest parties and meeting incredibly talented people.  It’s all in a day’s work at MTV!

“Almost everyone who has access to a phone, camera and computer these days has aspirations to be seen and heard if only in cyberspace. MTV provides a much bigger stage for new talent to be seen and heard. We’re optimistic that we’ll find a fresh

new face that fits the MTV brand and appeals to its New Zealand fans,” says Laura Glassman, Channel Manager, MTV New Zealand.

Pick Me MTV is an incredible launch pad that could set the winner off in any number of career paths with one of the biggest youth brands in the world backing them up. But it’s not all fun times and partying. You’ll have to work hard, be flexible and relatable to a broad range of people, have the ability to talk and listen. But most of all you have to live and breathe the MTV lifestyle.

“The biggest tip I can give you is to be passionate” says MTV presenter Jay Reeve, “I’m a passionate person and always choose my attitude: turn up with a smile or f**k off. MTV has provided me with the most insane money-can’t-buy experiences. From attending the MTV Video Music Awards in New York to meeting the likes of Russell Brand, The Hills and The City casts as well as a bunch of other celebrities. Traveling to Germany and London for the European Music Awards hosted by Snoop Dogg was another highlight followed by interviewing the Foo Fighters and driving a BMW at 230km/hr on the autobahn. To put it simply - think of getting paid to have the most fun you can have with the coolest crew and you have my job!”

Want MTV to pick you for this money can’t buy opportunity? Upload your clip at pickmemtv.co.nz from August 23rd!
