hildren’s Charity Benefits from National Record

Media release                                                                                          September 10, 2010

Children’s Charity Benefits from National Record Success

More than 250 people put their money where their mouths are today, establishing a national powerbrushing record and raising funds for a popular children’s charity in celebration of World Oral Health Day.

The New Zealand Oral-B Powerbrushing Record Event measured the largest number of people powerbrushing in one place at one time with a donation of $5000 made to Variety – The Children’s Charity on behalf of those who participated.

Variety – The Children’s Charity Chief Executive Lorraine Taylor says the funds will be used to purchase equipment for children with mobility issues.

“This funding will allow children to go on family bike rides, interact with their peers and provide important physical development,” she says.

Oral-B spokesperson Alicia Gorken says the company is thrilled to have established the new record which not only raises awareness of the benefits of a good oral healthcare regime but rewards a worthwhile charity in the process.

“We are really excited to have managed to get so many Kiwis in one place powerbrushing together to create this fantastic record.  We are especially thrilled that the results of their participation will see New Zealand children benefit,” says Gorken.

All participants received an Oral-B Professional Care 5000 power toothbrush valued at almost RRP $100 and one lucky participant was also awarded a $5,000 cash prize.
