New Robert Scott Single And Video
New Robert Scott Single And Video
There is something otherworldly about Too Early, the latest noisy, melodic piece of psych-pop from Robert Scott’s (The Clean, The Bats) new solo album Ends Run Together.
Featuring a crashed UFO and a lost visitor from another world, the video, by Melbourne music video maestro John Morrison, seems to capture this feeling perfectly.
Put together from footage from a 1957 film about oil drilling, what the alien wants is eerily unclear but with fellow Clean-er David Kilgour joining in on guitar duties, Too Early is packed full of classic Robert Scott pop hooks and layered, squalling guitar rock that is instantly recognisable. In saying that, Too Early is as fresh and vibrant as ever and Robert’s guitar and vocals have never sounded better.
Indeed, in a world of ambitious pretenders, the ever humble, obliging and low-key Robert Scott is the real deal and Too Early is as fine a tribute to his colossal talents as you could want.
