Festivities for Kidz First
EVERYBODY wants children to have a spectacular time at Christmas and the line up for a super special party will put a smile on the faces of kids who need a bit more pampering than their mates.
The Kidz First Community Christmas party is hot on the agenda for children with long term illnesses that can make every day a challenge for the youngsters and their families.
On Saturday November 27 about 200 children will be partying with Warriors league stars, Scotty the Sky Tower with his assistant Rainbow and Clifford the Big Red Dog.
Of course the star of the show is Santa Claus and his merry elf – spreading some Christmas magic throughout the wide-eyed crowd.
Other celebrities joining the fun are champion shot putter Valerie Adams, boxer Shane Cameron, Steelers and Blues rugby players, Pip Bannerman from Planet Fun and news presenter Wendy Petrie.
Auckland Mayor Len Brown will also be joining the fun and maybe he’ll continue his lyrical tradition with a song or two for the children.
The youngsters celebrating Christmas at SKYCITY Auckland Convention Centre are not currently hospitalised but require long term care by the Kidz First Community paediatric team due to continuing illness or disability.
SKYCITY Auckland has supported this fantastic annual event and the team pulls out all of the stops to provide fantastic food, entertainment and plenty of Christmas cheer for everyone.
Pam Tregonning, Executive director for the South Auckland Health Foundation, says it is fantastic that SKYCITY is giving special kids a special Christmas.
“The Kidz First Christmas Party is designed to provide a Christmas celebration for Kidz First community kids. We are so grateful to SKYCITY for their ongoing commitment to Kidz First,” says Mrs Tregonning.
“This party is exactly what these kids and their families need – loads of fun, lots of treats and a little bit of Christmas magic.”
