Multi-award-winning Wellington based theatre company, The Bacchanals (Chapman Tripp Theatre award for Production of the Year 2005), will be back in January 2011, celebrating their eleventh birthday, with a shocking hilarious new play from Bruce Mason award winner Paul Rothwell, author of Hate Crimes, Golden Boys, Deliver Us, Kissing Bone, The Blackening and Christmas Indoors.

The Bacchanals are a company dedicated to exploring classic texts as well as premiering new New Zealand plays. They believe that passion, energy and intelligence are all that is needed to create electrifying theatre, and have been highly and widely acclaimed “Do not miss them, they are always intelligent, entertaining and accessible” (Lumiere). Recent Bacchanals production, Simon Vincent’s A Renaissance Man (BATS 2008) was a swash-buckling bodice-ripper inspired by the life and poetry of John Donne, which Theatreview called "a thrill to witness".

The Bacchanals formed in February 2000 to perform Aristophanes' 405BC comedy The Frogs in the Studio 77 amphitheatre as part of the New Zealand Fringe Festival. They are well known throughout the country for bringing Shakespeare’s plays to small New Zealand towns where audiences might otherwise never get to see them. The Bacchanals have won numerous Chapman Tripp Theatre Awards, and have been a launch pad for the careers of emerging young talent. No Taste Forever stars Alex Greig (Supporting Actor of the Year 2005) Jackson Coe (nominated for Best Newcomer 2010) and is directed by David Lawrence (Director of the Year 2005).

No Taste Forever is the fifth Rothwell play to be directed by David Lawrence. It will be a spectacular celebration of a decade of theatrical madness. Try to imagine a sort of Hitchcock's Vertigo having a child with the original Invasion of the Bodysnatchers that resembled Ghost World, Brick, High School Musical, An American Werewolf In London and Fight Club all at the same time. With a chorus of evil dancing vegetables.

In No Taste Forever, the human race is under attack from an insidious force. Nutritionist Malcolm Sweet realises something is wrong when his morbidly obese patients start dropping like flies. When a little girl is crushed beneath the wheels of his SUV, crying for her ice cream, Malcolm knows for certain that something terrifying has a hold over the human race and he’s determined to find out what it is. What he discovers will shock you to the pit of your stomach.

Starring Alex Greig, Brianne Kerr, Michael Trigg, Annaliese Booth, Alisha Tyson, Jonny Potts, Kirsty Bruce, Jean Sergent, Salesi Le'ota, and Rose Guise with Jess Aaltonen as Ms Chocolate, Helen Sims as Baby Emma, Jackson Coe as CinCin the psychopathic waiter and Andrew Goddard as the singing hotdog!
