Front row start for Edgell at Manfeild NZV8s

Front row start for Edgell at Manfeild NZV8s

Top NZV8 race driver Tim Edgell is happy to be starting from the front row of the grid in the first NZV8 race at Manfeild tomorrow (Sunday 13 February).

The #26 Chesters-BNT Falcon driver says he got a good, clean lap during the top ten shootout on Saturday afternoon to secure the second-quickest time. Edgell lines up beside former NZV8 champion Kayne Scott for the first 12-lap race on Sunday.

Last season, the North Shore-based driver won the first NZV8 race of his successful career at Manfeild and he’ll be doing all he can to try and improve from second on the grid during Sunday’s racing.

“We got on top of the car during testing and then we had a good run during the early part of qualifying. Being able to set a solid benchmark on used tyres is very helpful. As that first qualifying session finished, Angus Fogg, the current leader, didn’t make it into the top ten so that was one less top runner to compete against.

“So with a nice, clean lap completed during the top ten shootout, we’re second on the grid and that’s great. I’m a lot happier with the car now and want to put together three good races tomorrow. We haven’t had a good result for a while so the whole Chesters Falcon team will be looking for a more positive day of racing in this fifth round of the NZV8 series.”

Edgell Performance Racing appreciates the support of the following sponsors: Chesters Plumbing and Bathroom, BNT, Marley, Hansen Products, Fuchs, Tru-Test Group, North Harbour Ford, Roca, FujiFilm, Element 82 Ltd, Wurth NZ and Journey on Roadside Solutions.
