opening evening 5pm - 7pm 14th Feb., byo.
LAUGHING LADY/LIVING LOVER depicts a series of women,
bold in their curves and proudly displaying their intimate
relationships with reptilian lovers.
The smooth,
round landscapes of flesh these women carry are in sensory
contrast to the craggy scales of these various species of
chameleon,
and frankly are highly familiar and arousing -
to the artist at least - insofar as we often find we take
lovers whose aesthetics
may go against social convention
or even our own desires, but this can lead to a much more
heightened and enlightening
experience if we allow it
to.
Above all this show is about pride, attitude and a
sense of personal adventure, a world with its eyes open.
all works are ink on paper.

OPENING: 6.00 -
8.00pm Monday 21 February.
OPEN: Tuesday 22 - Saturday 26

‘It Came from Outsider Space!’ is a group exhibition of new work from the artists at Alpha Art Studio. The exhibition is a diverse collection of outsider art that includes the mediums of paint, collage, pencil, pen, sculpture, weaving and video. Continuing the success of previous exhibitions it celebrates a style of art that is personal, untaught, spontaneous and free.
These works give an insight to the fourth dimension, a space where the sub conscious has been allowed to develop with quirky and raw results. Offering a chance to get a glimpse inside the artists’ minds into their desires, dreams and everyday life, a rare opportunity for the viewer to see the planet through their eyes.
Contributing Artists are Louise Anderson, Tim Badrick, Ashok Bava, Julie Bradshaw, Victor Bright, Reuben Carter, Damon Catchpole, Marie Louise Cosgrave, Michael Cupples, Denise Dennehy, Jeff Dixon, Emma Lou, Adrian Faherty, Poppy Hill, Martin Kerschbaumer, Piotrus Knap, Almitra Langton, Sharleen Monaghan, Juliet Nally, Debbie Nilsen, Peter Oliver, Serena Parker, Shaun O’Riordan, Anthony Skinnon, Tracey Tse, Victor Wilson, David Wong and Murray Wylie.
