Auction to benefit Earthquake Recovery Fund
New Zealand Young
Farmer Members have been out on the streets of Christchurch
with the “Farmy Army” over the past week, and this
weekend NZYF’s commitment to helping the city recover from
the devastating February 22nd Earthquake steps up another
gear.
The National Bank Young Farmer Contest Waikato/Bay of Plenty Regional Final is to be held tomorrow (March 5th) at the Morrinsville A&P Showgrounds, with the Evening Show taking place at Morrinsville College. To help raise money for the Earthquake Recovery Fund the usual audience participation round is to be replaced by an auction.
The National Bank Young Farmer Contest has the support of its sponsors in this fundraising mission. Honda has donated a XR125 Duster: the ultimate 2-wheel farm bike. Echo has given a line trimmer and there’s 20L of Glyphosate from Ravensdown to auction off too. The National Bank is also pitching in; they’ve donated an iPod that will also go to the highest bidder.
Audience members will be given the chance to bid on these items and all funds raised will go to the Earthquake Recovery Fund. For anyone else that wants to contribute, there’ll be collection buckets during the Practical Day and the Evening Show as well.
The auction takes place at the Evening Show at Morrinsville College. The show commences at 7pm; tickets are $20 available from The National Bank or on the day.
