Awesome line-up for Comedy Festival 2011

Husband and wife team, Rhys Darby and Rosie Carnahan are bringing six world class performers to this year’s International Comedy Festival in Auckland and Wellington.

Jetting in from LA is Glenn Wool, one of Canada's greatest exports and arguably one of the best comics working today. Direct from the UK via the Sydney Comedy festival is Anil Desai, a master impressionist and comic. Ex pat Kiwi Jarred Christmas will return from the UK, having wowed audiences at the NZ Comedy Gala last year with his high energy performance.

Joining the international contingent are local stalwarts Jeremy Corbett and Paul Ego (TV3's 7 Days, MORE FM and the Rock) and 2009 Billy T Award winner Chris Brain, fresh from touring Australia and NZ with Rhys Darby.

Rounding off the Awesomeness family is Mr Boon, the part time comic and part time teacher who has been delighting Auckland kids with his irreverent shows.
Awesomeness brings a special line-up of these acts to the Hawkins Theatre, Papakura on Wednesday April 27 and Darby will host an ensemble of the acts at Ascension Wine Estate, Matakana on Thursday April 28 and Saturday April 30.

This is the third year Rosie Carnahan and her husband have produced shows as Awesomeness International; a difference this year is that they will also take comedy to the outer regions of Auckland city.
