Fat Freddys heads all-night street party ‘Cuba for Chch’
Next Friday, Wellington's iconic Cuba St will resonate with the sounds of goodwill and great music, with the announcement today of the headline music acts for Cuba for Chch.
Cuba for Chch is a charity initiative that sprang from Wellington's entertainment precinct, taking place in and around Cuba Street in central Wellington next Friday March 25.
Local musicians and DJs will donate their talents and the area’s bars and venues have combined forces to present an all-night line-up of entertainment. All proceeds from the $10 passport will go to New Zealand Red Cross 2011 Earthquake Appeal.

The confirmed line-up was announced this morning on RadioActive.FM. Fat Freddys Drop headline a strong line-up of local musicians, which includes: Barnaby Weir, 47 Diamantes, Eva Prowse, The Family Cactus, Bella Kalolo, The Rounds, DJ Zen, Redbird Jnr, Newtown Rocksteady, Nudge, Kev Fresh, Marek, Gus, TV DiSKO, Maximum Joy and WTFFF!!

Special guests Bang Bang Eche from Christchurch add Southern spice to the mix.
Venues include San Francisco Bathhouse, Mighty Mighty, Matterhorn, Good Luck, The Southern Cross, Havana, and Manky Chops, and the Amazing Traveling Photobooth will be in Cuba Mall from 6pm for those who want to capture the moment in style.

Local radio station RadioActive.fm is helping organise the event and providing promotional, logistical and media support. A full schedule of artists and venues, with a few more DJs to be confirmed, will be announced before the event.

All proceeds from the passports, in addition to cash collections at all venues and on the street during the event, will go to New Zealand Red Cross 2011 Earthquake Appeal to assist with relief efforts in Christchurch.
The entry is a $10 “passport” which will provide entry to all venues (subject to capacity). Local fashion house Starfish have produced the special fabric passports, available on the doors of the venue next Friday.
