Domino’s Announces AUD$24 Million Store Refurbishment

Domino’s Announces AUD$24 Million Store Refurbishment Program

Domino’s Pizza NZ Ltd (“Domino’s”) today announced an AUD$24 million store refurbishment program for its stores New Zealand and Australia, which it says will bring greater sales and customer appeal to out-dated store layouts.

As well as Domino’s owned stores undergoing an upgrade, the refurbishment program will include franchised stores undertaking their own upgrade to ensure they keep up with retail trends and customer demands while improving their business for the future.

To kick off the refurbishment program 40 stores will immediately begin the transformation with more stores being added to the program at different stages this year.

Domino’s Chief Development and Franchising Officer Pat McMichael said the store refurbishment program was of significant importance to the Company with many older looking stores in need of an upgrade.

“Domino’s has been in the New Zealand and Australian market for many years but unfortunately we have some older stores which have become visually unappealing to customers,” Mr McMichael said.

“Our store refurbishment program is about bringing older stores back to life and giving them a new look and layout which we know will bring greater sales and new customers. It’s about stepping into the future and delivering a greater overall customer experience.

“We currently have 40 existing franchise and corporate stores undergoing a new fit-out across New Zealand and Australia. This is a huge capital expenditure project to be funded by DPE and franchisees but one we know will help deliver greater return for our franchisees and make our stores more visually appealing to customers.

Domino’s new store design incorporates softer tones and wood panelling to provide a more welcoming but contemporary feel for customers. Selected stores will also feature

a seating area for customers and the pizza make line at the front of the store so customers can see their pizzas being made.

Domino’s Pizza Enterprises Ltd and its franchisees have 538 stores across New Zealand and Australia employing more than 14,500 part-time and full-time staff and making more than 50 million pizzas each year.

Domino’s Pizza (DMP) is Australia’s first publicly-listed pizza chain, making its debut on the Australian Securities Exchange in May 2005.
