Anil Desai in "Hey, Impressions Guy!"

MIMIC ASTOUNDS AUDIENCES WORLDWIDE WITH RECORD BREAKING 52 IMPRESSIONS IN 5 MINUTES

Edinburgh Fringe Festival veteran Anil Desai, is a British comic and master impressionist who performs in New Zealand next month for the first time ever. However, he will be a familiar

face to many Kiwi’s as he began his career in the award winning BBC sketch show series “Goodness Gracious Me”.

This talented Brit followed this by creating his own comedy sketch group The Giant Pineapple Boys, performing in the London and Edinburgh Festivals and has also co-hosted on the ever popular live late show Spank! When Anil began stand-up comedy in 2005 he created comedy characters Rajesh – Bollywood Lounge Singer and Candice – the Fluffer Girl. Desai is one of the few acts that can cross the genre divide, performing continually on the comedy, cabaret, variety and burlesque circuits.

Desai's current show "Hey, Impressions Guy!" garnered rave reviews in Edinburgh, where he has performed at the world famous fringe festival for the last decade. He has recently toured India and in Australia he appeared on Hey Hey It's Saturday!

With jaw dropping ease, Desai slips from Robert De Niro to Johnny Depp, from Nelson Mandela to Homer Simpson, leaving his audiences in hysterics. Anil Desai will no doubt be one of the hits of the 2011 International Comedy Festival and tickets are expected to sell fast.
