Where The Wild Things Are!
The 2011 NZ International Comedy Festival presents Stand-up For Kids
Where The Wild Things Are!
There once was a small boy who used to laugh at everything; from the words bum, poos and wees to even people falling over in the play pen.
Something happened one day though which puzzled his mum and dad; the young boy stopped laughing, so silent, so sad.
His family tried everything, his friends were perplexed. They tried all their pranks, leaving their teacher so vexed!
Then one day came the NZ International Comedy Fest, which brings together comedians - the best!
Mother and dad, friends knew what to do; get him to Stand-up For Kids! For a laugh, or a few.
Stand-up for Kids has become a beloved family outing during the 2011 NZ International Comedy Festival. For the past three years, the season has assembled some of the best talents locally and internationally to present a showcase that is both kid-friendly and a lot of fun.
Stand-up For Kids draws comic heavyweights from the more mature circuit to tailor their material to younger audiences.
This year, it's the funniest magician in the universe Jarred Fell's task to round up a new bunch of fantastic comedians to fan the flames of laughter - and all the while keeping it clean for the kids. It's a one-hour showcase of the funniest family-friendly material, guaranteed to get our youngest comedy fans giggling!
Fell, a former Billy T Award nominee (2010) is internationally acclaimed with his comedy-magic for older audiences. But last year's performance at Stand-up for Kids, including his hilarious balloon trick, has won him fans for life - literally, given the young audience at this Festival show. "I enjoyed Jarred's magic, funny trick. it made me laugh so hard that I couldn't stop. Then my glasses came off!" - Jayden, age 6
Rude words not allowed: fart, poo, bum, bogies, burp and wees.
"The Stand-up for Kids show is like the Most funniest Show ever because you won't stop laughing and stop clapping at all." - Corryna, age 7
