SKYCITY New Zealand Poker Open Returns for 2011

Following the overwhelming success of SKYCITY poker tournaments during 2010, SKYCITY is delighted to announce the SKYCITY New Zealand Poker Open is to be held over Queen’s Birthday weekend at SKYCITY Auckland.

The SKYCITY New Zealand Poker Open will be capped at 240 players. With the tournament capped, three Day 1 flights will take place over 2-4 June with Day 2 trimming down the players on Sunday 5 June. The final day will take place on Monday 6 June ending with a 2011 SKYCITY New Zealand Poker Open champion.

Peter Lawrence, SKYCITY Auckland General Manager – Table Games said:
“It’s great to see that the first tournament for SKYCITY Auckland for 2011 is aimed at bringing the best domestic players together. This tournament will show the poker community of New Zealand who the real players are.”

Satellites for the Main Event which is held over Queens Birthday weekend will begin on 1 May and range from $20 NZD to $240 NZD. The Main Event buy-in for the New Zealand Poker Open is $1,100 NZD.

The Main Event will be run as a repecharge event. This means that players who buy into Day 1a and do not make the cut can buy into Day 1b or Day 1c for the full buy-in price and have another shot at making it through.
