Botany Town Centre Celebrates Mothers Throughout May
A mother’s
love is shown in the many selfless acts carried out for the
sake of her children. Mothers work incredibly hard and often
go without money, new clothes, sleep and free time in order
to support their families. That generosity is the reason why
many of us feel an overwhelming need to treat our
mothers.
East Auckland’s Botany Town Centre is giving those great mums in the community permission to think about themselves – and to make them feel extra special, is turning each of the 31 days in May into Mother’s Day.
Throughout the month, the centre will be accepting nominations in the search to find 10 of Auckland’s best mums, who continue to go above and beyond the call of duty for their families. The centre is encouraging people to send in their nominations by explaining, in 250 words or less, why their mum is so special.
To celebrate mums and all things maternal, the chosen top 10 nominees will be invited to attend a high tea on Saturday 28 May. Each nominee will receive a goody bag, and the overall winner will be awarded a $500 Botany Town centre gift card, an Image Oasis treatment voucher valued at $300, and a Hoyts La Premiere gift card valued at $200.
Nominations can be emailed to info@ampbotany.co.nzinfo@ampbotany.co.nz or mailed to Mother’s Month Competition, Botany Town Centre, PO Box 64024, Botany Downs, Auckland 2163. Nominations close Sunday 22 May.
“We are thrilled to be celebrating the great mums in our community not only on Mother’s Day, but throughout the month of May,” says Botany Town Centre senior marketing manager Desiree Clark. “By honouring their spirit and devotion, we hope they will take the time to think about themselves for once and recharge the batteries.”
Mums hold a special place in everyone’s heart and sending a personal message is bound to pull on the heartstrings. From 2 to 22 May, those people wanting to do something different for their mums can visit the video kiosk (located in the Pavilions) to record a special video for their mum. The video can be emailed directly from the video kiosk or uploaded to the Botany Town Centre Facebook page.
Mums who are spotted at Botany Town Centre will also find themselves on the receiving end of random acts of kindness. More than $5,000 worth of YOU vouchers will be given away, rewarding mums and encouraging them to take some time out of their busy schedule to treat themselves.
