ROAR! artists explore flora and fauna

Reece Tong has exhibited widely in Wellington and internationally where he has shown work in Outsider Art Fairs in Paris, New York and Rotterdam.

His strong graphic style is immediately recognisable, figures are reduced to essential elements and placed on the picture plane in a topographical and rhythmic manner that disregards traditional notions of perspective.

In this exhibition Reece returns to his Taranaki farming roots for inspiration taking his brush to both 2D and 3D surfaces to create rural motifs from bottles, boxes and board.

David Fyall is a deaf artist who has been attending Pablos for three years. Over this time he has developed his own unique style of art making. His field of focus is narrow consisting of bull dogs, lions and trees, however this has not hampered David’s ability to experiment and distil a process that is both expressive and refined.

David and Reece are joined in this exhibition by Outsider artist Leslie Patterson who began painting after a brain injury some years ago. From this humble start he has found a pleasurable way of expressing himself.

Join us at ROAR! gallery near the corner of Vivian and Victoria Streets on the opening night 5-7pm Thursday 9 June to meet the artist/s and share a glass of wine.

All welcome.
