Has your Pooch got what it takes?

Peach Theatre Company brings the much loved classic 'The Wizard of Oz' to the Mighty Civic this September, with an all star cast including Raymond Hawthorne, George Henare, Lisa Chappell, Tina Cross and Olivia Tennet. But - we're missing the true star of the show....

Toto the dog, Dorothy's big hearted friend has been winning the hearts of Wizard of Oz fans worldwide for over 50 years. Now, it's time to find New Zealand's very own Toto.

Peach Theatre Company, PURINA BENEFUL and MORE FM are joining forces to hold auditions for Auckland's most lovable dog to play Toto for the 10 show season at the Civic Theatre. The auditions will generate a buzz of excitement among thousands of animal lovers across Auckland City.

If you think your dog has what it takes to win over our judging panel that will include, a PURINA BENEFUL representative, Jesse Peach (director), Rosie Miles (dog trainer) and one of the MORE FM team, then head to www.morefm.co.nz. It does not matter if your dog is little or large, or if they resemble the Toto from the silver screen – they just need that something special. Register your canine friend online before Thursday June 23.
Then from Friday June 24 the top 20 dogs will be uploaded to the MORE fm website and you can help us pick the top ten hounds by voting online at www.morefm.co.nz.
The agility and pizzazz of the chosen top ten dogs will be tested on Saturday July 9, from 11am – 2pm in Western Park (at the top of Western Park, corner of Ponsonby Road and Hepburn Street). Dog trainer Rosie Miles will put the dogs through their paces and the judges will confer about the talent on display, they will then announce the winner - the pooch that has won the coveted spot in Dorothy’s hand basket for 10 nights at the Civic Theatre!
Come along and check out the action on July 9, you can bring your dog to have their photo taken with Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz! So you and your pooch can be the star even if they are not part of the competition!

• Online Voting starts on Saturday June 25 go to www.morefm.co.nz to see the doggie line up & cast your vote
• Top 10 dogs judged and winner announced on Saturday July 9 in Western Park, Ponsonby from 11am – 2pm.
