Variety Wants To Help Children In South Auckland, Waikato And Rotorua On 2011 Mini Bash
The Variety Mini Bash 2011 is travelling from Mangere South to Cambridge, via Morrinsville, Matamata, Rotorua and Mamaku during the weekend of September 2-4 and wants to help children in need.
Variety - The Children's Charity is currently seeking applications for funding from families and child-related organisations to be considered for distribution during the Variety Mini Bash.
Variety is there for children in all sorts of challenging circumstances. The charity funds a broad range of requirements under three programmes: Variety Future Kiwi Kids, Variety Caring for Kids and Variety Kids on the Move.
Examples of items that may be considered for funding include specialised trikes or bikes; computer equipment for special hearing and communications requirements; sport, play, and arts equipment; much-needed medical devices currently not funded by the New Zealand Government or other organisations, like insulin pumps; and customised equipment for children with special needs.
Applications for grants
to be presented on the 2011 Variety Mini Bash must be
received by 31 July 2011. Application forms are available
online at www.variety.org.nz
The Variety Mini Bash is a long weekend Variety Bash 'taster' held each September. It's a quirky car rally which travels over 500 km fundraising for Kiwi kids, distributing grants, entertaining children, participating in community projects and telling the Variety story.
"The Variety Mini Bash is a mad-cap adventure, full of eccentric vehicles, larger-than-life characters and heart-felt philanthropy," says Lorraine Taylor, CEO, Variety - The Children's Charity. "Every child deserves the opportunity to reach their potential and we urge families and children's welfare organisations to get their applications in for a Variety Mini Bash grant as soon as possible."
