A surreal cyber world, broken hearts, camping trips
and a zombie apocalypse!
Young and Hungry is an annual theatre festival created by young people with the intention of making accessible, unique and completely new theatre.
Forty theatre newbies, mentored by industry professionals in all areas of production, present three fresh Kiwi plays. The 2011 season includes exciting new works from Whiti Hereaka (For Johnny), Thomas Sainsbury (Disorder) and new playwright Aaron Alexander (Hearts Encoded).
In its seventeenth year at BATS Theatre, Young and Hungry has a tried and true reputation for edgy original New Zealand theatre.

Johnny.
As the group struggles to cope with the loss of such an integral friend they test themselves and their position and place in the group. How will they move on without him?
Set during the final year of high

life becomes an abrupt reality.

Your Idealised Identity is just a click away!
A surreal virtual world is brought to life, blurring the lines between the three-dimensional world and reality.
In a world of online social network sites a magical place is created for people to be seen as they wish to be seen - where they are socially constructed and socially un-constricted creatures.
In this ever-changing second life setting the players are brought together after the death of one of the much-loved virtual character operators.
Hearts Encoded is a love story where the line between appearance and reality merges and a change of identity is always just a click away.
