The Super Oz Is On a World Cup Mission

Who better to prepare us for this exciting event than the Super Oz himself!

“Having played in two world cups I can tell you right now that nothing beats the sheer excitement especially in the build up to the tournament’s kick off. Nothing, that is, except coming on a road trip with the Super Oz,” Osborne says.

“You bring your laughing gear and I’ll bring my boots on a very special hikoi to help spread the word – The World Cup is coming! And I’m going to make sure the Maori rugby clubs of Aotearoa are prepared!”

In Bring Your Boots Oz – The World Cup edition, Osborne has the pride of Aoteaora resting on his shoulders after being given a high-level mission: Infiltrate the many Maori clubs around the motu and get them up to speed with the tikanga of the international teams coming to their rohe.

Over 13 fun-filled episodes, he sniffs out teammates with whakapapa connections to visiting nations, coaches his new club in the waiata, cuisine and reo of their manuhiri and helps them dream up a host of creative ways to make their high profile guests feel at home.

From a bout of Greco-Roman wrestling ahead of the Georgian team’s visit to the Wairarapa to an impromptu lesson in Cossack dancing in celebration of the Russian invasion of Taranaki, Osborne is pulling out all the stops to build bridges between our local clubs and our international visitors.

Television’s best looking presenter “The Super Oz” is as sharp, funny and deadly on the park as ever, and with a whole new set of clubs to join, and new cultures to explore, Bring Your Boots Oz is as entertaining and as fresh as sports entertainment telly gets; a truly tantalising appetiser to Rugby World Cup 2011.
