Meet The U.S. Eagles Rugby Team At Scots College – Free Public Event

On Wednesday 21 September rugby fans are invited to come and meet the American Eagles Rugby Squad at Scots College in Strathmore, during their World Cup visit to Wellington.


This free event is open to public and fans young and old are invited to come and shake hands with the players, meet the coaches, have their memorabilia signed and enjoy some all-American hospitality.

“We’re delighted to host the U.S. Eagles at our College. This is a fantastic opportunity for everyone to meet the players in person, and we welcome the wider community to Scots to come and join us, and be part of the festivities,” said Peter Cassie, Chair of Scots College Rugby Club.


“The Scots College Studio Winds Band will be playing some all-time American classics that are guaranteed to get toes tapping, and the College’s 1st XV rugby team are lined up to welcome the Eagles with an impressive Scots Haka on arrival at 7.00pm,” confirmed Cassie.

Guests are requested to please register for this event in advance by emailing the U.S. Embassy (details below), and to arrive no later than 6.45pm to be a part of the celebrations.

This event is presented in partnership with the New Zealand American Association and the Embassy of the United States of America.

Date: Wednesday September 21, 2011


Time: Please arrive by 6.45pm


Celebrations: 7.00-8.30pm


Venue: Scots College Gymnasium,
Monorgan Road, Strathmore, Wellington
