Canterbury wedding fever!

Entries for the Wedding On Show competition may have only been open for one week but organisers have announced that they have already received 30 entries.

In conjunction with MORE FM Canterbury, the official radio station behind the Canterbury A&P Show, Show organisers are offering a $25,000+ wedding prize package including a wedding ceremony on the Village Green at the Show at 11.11am on Friday the 11th of the 11th, 2011.

Engaged couples are encouraged to register their interest online at www.morefm.co.nz. Registrations close 5pm, Friday 23 September 2011. Five finalist couples will be announced on Monday 26 September with listeners invited to vote for their favourite couple. The couple with the most votes will be announced Monday 3 October 2011.

“We knew there was an amazing prize package on offer and were expecting a great response from Canterbury couples, but 30 entries in the first week more than exceeded our expectations. Canterbury couples are certainly crazy for weddings!” commented Wedding On Show Event Coordinator Michelle Taylor.

The ‘Wedding On Show’ prize package includes:
- Wedding invitations provided by Christchurch art and graphic suppliers The Drawing Room.
- The couple and 80 guests will receive entry tickets to the Canterbury A&P Show.
- Wedding ceremony will be held on the Village Green at Canterbury Agricultural Park, home of the Canterbury A&P Show.
- Marriage Celebrant Sean F Joyce will conduct the ceremony.
- The wedding gown will be supplied by Robyn Cliffe Couturiére.
- Suit for the groom supplied by MUNNS The Man’s Store, Tower Junction.
- Martinovich Exceptional Jewellery will meet with the couple for a consultation and provide two handmade, unique rings.
- Bourbon Rose Florist, Christchurch's leading innovative floral stylist, wedding specialist and flower experts will provide a floral package including the bouquet, buttonieres and decorative flowers.
- Hair and makeup provided by H&B Hair Art & Beauty.
- One of the leading marquee-based event suppliers for New Zealand, HireQuip Events, will provide outdoor furniture and decorations for the ceremony.
- The Hermitage Hotel will provide canapés at the Show for up to 80 wedding guests post ceremony.
- The wedding cake will be provided by Kidd’s Cakes & Bakery, specialists in decorative and wedding cakes.
- Photography package from Star Photographers, including a photographer for 3 hours, 100 6x4 prints, proof album, 1 framed 5x7 enlargement and disk of all images.
- Amazing wedding night package for the bride and groom at Terrace Downs including accommodation in a deluxe villa, breakfast, dinner and the choice of golf or spa treatments for two.
- Helicopter transfer after the ceremony, from Canterbury Agricultural Park to Terrace Downs from Helipro.
- Transportation to the ceremony and return transport from Terrace Downs from Hassle-free Tours.
The 2011 Canterbury A&P Show will be held Wednesday 9 to Friday 11 November at Canterbury Agricultural Park in Christchurch. It is the largest A&P Show in the country attracting over 100,000 people, close to 7000 livestock and feature competition entries and 600 trade exhibitors.
