Age Concern New Zealand's Patron's Award Finalists Announced
Age Concern New Zealand is delighted to announce the shortlisted entries in its Patron's Award online photography competition.
We asked both the public and the media to post positive images of older people on our Facebook page and were thrilled to receive more than sixty entries.
Public voting on these has determined a shortlist of ten photographs. Five of these are from the public category and five from the media.
All
entries can be viewed on Age Concern New Zealand's Facebook
page. Selected media entries came from publications including
The Dominion Post and Number 8 Films. Photographers include
Phil Reid, Alison Brown, Ross Giblin, Chris Banks and Ben
Watson. Category winners will be determined by Age Concern
Board, staff and invited guests voting on the shortlisted
entries at an award ceremony held in Wellington on 30
September, as part of International Day of Older Persons
celebrations. The Age Concern Patron's Award was
established in 2009 as a way to challenge ageist attitudes
and stereotypes about growing older. ENDS
