Budding Gardeners Sow With Experts

Budding Gardeners Sow With Experts

27 September 2011

Hordes of Avid gardeners came together on Saturday afternoon (24th September 2011) to attend the inaugural Daltons school of gardening workshop, hosted by Xanthe White at Daltons Landscape yard, Morrin Road, Mount Wellington, Auckland. It was every gardener’s delight, as beginners and seasoned gardeners mingled together; to learn, be inspired and impart their best kept secrets with Xanthe in the workshop setting. This practical hands-on workshop focused on ‘growing from seed’. Participants planted seeds and learnt how to create their own origami seed pots using recycled newspaper. The atmosphere was vibrant and attendees enthusiastic as Xanthe imparted her philosophy, inspiration and knowledge to the expectant crowd, who were not disappointed. Daltons experts along with Mark Stevenson of Hort Fert Plus and Scott Bromwich of Daltons hosted a Garden Questions segment whereby attendees were challenged to throw their most difficult questions at the experts and win a prize if they could stump them.

Attendees had a wonderful afternoon and couldn’t believe their luck as they departed with a bundle of gifts, courtesy of Daltons. The next workshop will be held on 26th October and the last Saturday of every month thereafter through to May next year.
