- Survey reveals the RWC is great for our sex lives -

Two thirds of Kiwis expect more sex as a result of the Rugby World Cup, reveals the latest Durex survey.

67% of people questioned believed they would be having more sex than usual while the tournament is on, with only 33% believing the tournament would have an adverse affect on their sex life (0% said it would make no difference).

But the best could be yet to come - a whopping 96% of respondents said they will celebrate with more sex than usual if New Zealand takes home the trophy.

And it's not just good news for the fans. 76% of respondents believe sports players should have sex in the lead up to a game if they want to - with 17% stating they should have as much sex as they can to help them perform on the field.

Abstaining from sex continued its unpopular streak, with just 7% believing it was the way to go for all round performance.

More than half (51%) of respondents believe the All Blacks should enhance their game in the bedroom with lubricant that invigorates performance, like Durex Play 2 n1 Stimulating Lube.

So where is all this sex expected to take place? Almost 10% of respondents admitted to have had sex at a major sports tournament in the past.

Aucklanders can expect to witness some x-rated displays of affection, with 36% indicating they'd choose Party Central as the best public place for a sexual liaison and 22% preferring to linger at a stadium.

Adonis Souloglou from Durex says the survey is another bit of good news for Kiwis in amongst the excitement of the Rugby World Cup.

"There's so much going on right around the county, it's hard not to get caught up in the exhilaration and emotion of the tournament," says Adonis.

"Obviously we want Kiwis to get the most out of it - whether they are at the game or in the bedroom."

The Durex Sex Survey polled 350 New Zealanders 19 to 27 September.
