HRV Cup Here to
Stay
Cricket fans around the country can lock the HRV Cup Twenty/20 competition in their summer diaries following the announcement today that HRV, the country’s leading healthy home ventilation specialist, has extended its sponsorship for a further three years.
HRV Chief Executive, Bruce Gordon, said the decision to renew its partnership with New Zealand Cricket was a fairly straight forward one.
“In the three years we have been principle sponsor of the HRV Cup it has been an overwhelming success and is especially popular with families who want a fun day out at a top quality event. It is a natural fit for our company as we are focussed on creating healthy homes for New Zealand families. We are proud to have our systems in over 110,000 homes across the country.”
The announcement comes on the back of research commissioned by SPARC that revealed Twenty20 cricket as New Zealand’s most innovative sporting format ahead of V8 motor racing and basketball. Twenty20 cricket topped the list of sports ‘on the way up’ and also ranked just behind V8 motor racing as the most exciting and modern sport.
New Zealand Cricket Chief Executive, Justin Vaughan, says, “We greatly value the relationship we have with HRV and it’s fantastic that they have committed to another three years.
“HRV has been a proactive and dedicated sponsor since coming on board in 2009. Their passion for the sport is highlighted in their support of local cricket clubs and the introduction of community training days for up-and-coming cricketers, in association with Major Associations.
“With the likes of Taylor, Guptill, Southee, McCullum and the rest of the BLACKCAPS set to feature in every HRV Cup match this season, it is sure to be another successful and entertaining competition.”
The first round of Twenty20 action starts on 18 December with Sunday afternoon matches in Auckland, Rangiora and Dunedin. There will be two rounds with points deciding the top two teams who will meet in the final on 22 January 2012.
Live scoring for all HRV Cup matches is available from www.blackcaps.co.nz and MA websites. An increased number of matches will be televised on SKY TV and broadcast by Radio Sport.
