Adams, Raval and Parlane return for Aces

MEDIA RELEASE

Friday, 18 November 2011

The Auckland Aces have made three changes for their third round Plunket Shield clash with the Wellington Firebirds in Lincoln, with Andre Adams, Neal Parlane and Jeet Raval coming into the twelve.

The three players missing from the side that played in Rangiora are Martin Guptill, Chris Martin and Anaru Kitchen.

Adams was rested for the previous game and will hopefully be in the same kind of form that netted him 11 wickets in his first game back for the Aces against the Northern Knights. Parlane also returns after playing that first game in Whangarei and Raval has forced his way into the side on the back of some strong form in club cricket including 118 in his last outing.

Aces coach Paul Strang was happy with the effort in Rangiora but is looking for more next week.

"We were very pleased with the way we fought and battled our way out of some tough situations, which definitely kept us in the game. However there's no question that we've got things to work on and that's mainly about making sure we remain mentally focused throughout the four days."

The twelve to face Wellington starting on Sunday are as follows:

Gareth Hopkins (Captain) (Parnell)
Andre Adams (Overseas professional)
Michael Bates (Suburbs New Lynn)
Brad Cachopa (Takapuna)
Andrew de Boorder (Howick Pakuranga)
Colin de Grandhomme (Howick Pakuranga)
Tim McIntosh (Parnell)
Bruce Martin (Parnell)
Kyle Mills (Howick Pakuranga)
Neal Parlane (East Coast Bays)
Jeet Raval (Suburbs New Lynn)
Bhupinder Singh (Papatoetoe)
