Hopkins back for Aces clash with Stags

MEDIA RELEASE

Monday, 28 November 2011

Gareth Hopkins will resume the captaincy for the Aces in their first home Plunket Shield game of the season against the Central Stags starting tomorrow at Colin Maiden Park.

Hopkins missed the Aces draw against Wellington down in Lincoln although was available for their first up victory of the Ford Trophy against the same opposition.

He is the only change from the 12 that played in that last four dayer and coach Paul Strang is pleased to have a settled line-up.

"Being able to put out a consistent side round after round really helps build that team ethic and I think that's already got us through some tough sessions this season."

With the Aces sitting second on the table Strang wants to keep the momentum going.

"We've made a good start to the season and we're keen to get a good result out of this game before we pack away the four day cricket for a while."

The twelve to face the Central Stags starting tomorrow are as follows:
Gareth Hopkins (Captain) (Parnell)
Andre Adams (Overseas professional)
Michael Bates (Suburbs New Lynn)
Brad Cachopa (Takapuna)
Andrew de Boorder (Howick Pakuranga)
Colin de Grandhomme (Howick Pakuranga)
Tim McIntosh (Parnell)
Bruce Martin (Parnell)
Kyle Mills (Howick Pakuranga)
Neal Parlane (East Coast Bays)
Jeet Raval (Suburbs New Lynn)
Bhupinder Singh (Papatoetoe)
