The Wellington Racing Club is delighted to announce that Pacific Jewellers is the new overall sponsor for the 2012 Wellington Cup Carnival. The excitement is building in the lead-up, from glamorous fashions to heart stopping finishes, three great days where everyone comes to Trentham for a good time.

"We are thrilled to welcome the Pacific Jewellers team in particular the principals of the company Colin and Penny Lester for supporting the Wellington Racing Club for both the Cup and the overall sponsorship of the 3-day Carnival on January 21, 23 and 28" said President of the Wellington Racing Club, John Fokerd.

Pacific Jewellers are extensive manufacturing retail jewellers who specialise in designing, individualising & personalising items to suit all budgets. They are direct importers of diamonds and have 2 stores in Wellington, in Lambton Quay and Johnsonville.

"Next to the Rugby Sevens the Wellington Cup Carnival is the second most popular summer event in Wellington and our company is passionate about endorsing events in the region. We are a Wellington based company supporting an iconic Wellington event, this is by far and our biggest commitment but we feel Wellington Cup Carnival deserves support and we are thrilled to be involved from 2012" said Colin Lester from Pacific Jewellers.

Pacific Jewellers Wellington Cup Carnival kicks off with the Trentham Wine & Racing Festival on Saturday 21 January. 10 boutique wineries, live music all day & topped off with the Carnivals best racing with 5 black type races including the running of the iconic Telegraph Handicap. Trentham continues its carnival atmosphere for the Interislander Summer Festival Family Day on Wellington Anniversary Monday 23 January with loads of free activities and entertainment especially for the kids.

The Pacific Jewellers Wellington Cup Carnival then moves into the jewel in Wellington Racing Club’s crown Pacific Jewellers Wellington Cup Day Saturday 28 January. Where the impeccably dressed crowds come together for the running of the Wellington Cup & the best of the best horses compete for Wellington’s most prestigious horse racing trophy the Wellington Cup. The day also includes the famous GT Continental Volkswagen Fashion in the Field, Stella Artois Pavilion & a 20,000 + crowd all adding to the excitement that is Pacific Jewellers Wellington Cup Day.
