In one change to the Blaze squad that met the Auckland Hearts at Kelburn Park earlier this week, Rebecca Burns replaces Kelly Sutherland.
In the Action Cricket Cup match on Sunday Mindy Hodgson plays her 50th domestic One-Day match. In 49 One-Day games for the Blaze to date since her debut in 2006-07, Hodgson has scored 541 runs at an average of 18.65 with a highest score of 58 against Auckland two seasons ago.
Heading into the last round, the Blaze are still in contention of making both finals of the domestic women’s competition against already confirmed finalists the Canterbury Magicians. To make both finals the Blaze need to beat the Central Hinds in all three matches and rely on the results of other matches going in their favour.
The Action Cricket Twenty20 points table after eight matches and four rounds is:
Canterbury Magicians 30, Auckland Hearts 24, Wellington Blaze 18, Northern Spirit 10, Central Hinds 10, Otago Sparks 4
The Action Cricket Cup One-Day (50-over) points table after four rounds is:
