Andre Adams will join the Aces

Andre Adams will join the Aces for their seventh round Ford Trophy clash with the Wellington Firebirds this Sunday in a squad of 13 named today.

Adams missed the last game with a chest virus but joins the twelve that made short work of the Knights in Round 6 on Thursday.

That win over the Knights was noteworthy for the debut performance of pace bowler Mitchell McClenaghan, who bagged a five wicket haul, and whose form will provide an interesting selection headache on Sunday morning.

A win on Sunday will go a long way towards booking the Aces a semifinal berth but with the top three sides not playing each other in the last two rounds a number of possibilities remain open.

Those permutations don't concern Aces coach Paul Strang though who is just hoping for more of the same from his troops.

"I thought the way we approached the game on Tuesday was excellent and everything went right for us from the time we took that first wicket. It's great to see guys playing with lots of confidence and backing themselves to do the job. If we can play with that kind of attitude at the weekend then we'll be hard to stop."

The thirteen to face the Wellington Firebirds on Sunday is as follows:

Gareth Hopkins (c) (Parnell)
Andre Adams (Overseas professional)
Michael Bates (Suburbs New Lynn)
Brad Cachopa (Takapuna)
Colin de Grandhomme (Howick Pakuranga)
Ronnie Hira (North Shore)
Anaru Kitchen (Waitakere City)
Mitchell McClenaghan (Howick Pakuranga)
Tim McIntosh (Parnell)
Bruce Martin (Parnell)
Kyle Mills (Howick Pakuranga)
Colin Munro (Howick Pakuranga)
Bhupinder Singh (Papatoetoe)
