Meet the masters: reaching out through Accor
Accor hotels celebrates the universal language of fine art as the principal sponsor of Degas to Dalí, the Auckland Art Gallery’s first major international touring exhibition.
Degas to Dalí presents 78 outstanding examples of modern art from the National Galleries of Scotland The exhibition features revolutionary works from the likes of Monet, Picasso, Van Gogh, Warhol and of course Degas and Dali.
Fine art represents a universal language that appeals to people across the globe according to Paul Richardson, vice president, Accor New Zealand and Fiji.
“That’s why Accor is delighted to continue to reinvest back into the communities in the form of sponsorships such as the Degas to Dali exhibition. Our thanks go to the National Galleries of Scotland for their willingness to share these masterpieces with Aucklanders, New Zealanders and international guests.”
The Accor sponsorship of Degas to Dali was born of an existing partnership between the Auckland Art Gallery and Pullman Auckland, the group’s 5-star upscale hotel located just a short walk from the gallery.
“As the official hotel of the Auckland Art Gallery, Pullman Auckland is delighted our parent company has come on board to support Degas to Dalí. The partnership with the gallery enables us to provide exceptional experiences for our guests along with essential services for the gallery such as catering for events,” says Pullman general manager Rob McIntyre.
The Degas to Dali exhibition is expected to attract more than 110,000 visitors and key Accor properties are preparing to play a major role in meeting the accommodation demands of out of town guests.
“Accor has just this week opened its 10th hotel in Auckland - the luxurious Sofitel located in Viaduct Harbour,” Mr Richardson says. “We encourage art lovers to take advantage of special accommodation packages offered by our new property as well as Pullman, Novotel, Mercure and Ibis hotels in Auckland, including up to two complimentary admission tickets.”
Members of Accor’s global loyalty program A|Club also receive concession on general admission tickets and gift shop sales when they present their loyalty card.
Degas to Dalí runs from 3 March to 10 June 2012.
