At 48 years of age a New Zealand NEXT Magazine Woman of the Year 2011 finalist is not your average debut recording artist. Living in rural New Zealand, her use of social media & crowd funding raised the $30,000 to record her album "Brand New Day" & produce a video for single Midnight Sun. Which has landed her in the Australian Top 30 Country Tracks now at #20. http://www.countrymusicradio.com.au/index.cfm?page_id=1011 Australian community radio has supported the single and with several trips to Australia in the last few months to perform festivals. All while also being a mother of 3 a social media strategest for a raft of clients.
'Midnight Sun'. A co-write with Casper Van Vulpen & Alan Jansson, best known as writer/producer of one of New Zealand's most successful songs OMC's 'How Bizarre' 'Midnight Sun' is an upbeat country pop crossover transending both country and adult contemporary radio playlists. Now number 20 in the Top 30 Country Music Tracks in Australia. Written about Aly’s time in Norway performing, though the video takes another path via Auckland based Film Director Ken Khan who's interpretation follows the story of Sun God Ra from Greek mythology. With Full CGI (computer generated imaging), this is a state art music video and has been enjoying play both sides of the Tasman.
Brand New Day is on Aly's own label Futures Entertainment distributed via by WJO in Australia & ODE in New Zealand.
