NZ Starlet Joins Court Theatre Auction

NZ Starlet Joins Court Theatre Auction

Actress Melanie Lynskey has joined the plethora of international stars supporting The Court Theatre’s fundraising auction on Trade Me.

Lynskey, who began her film career in Christchurch with HEAVENLY CREATURES, has donated a vest from the hit TV show TWO AND A HALF MEN to the appeal.

The actress joins Sir Richard Taylor, Martin Freeman and Barry Humphries (as well as his alter egos Dame Edna Everidge and Les Patterson) who have donated or signed items on offer. The auction also includes several prints by Cuban artist Eduardo Muñoz Bachs that were smuggled out of Havana and have sold at over $1,500 overseas.

Trade Me has waived all fees for the exclusive online auction, enabling all proceeds to go towards replacing items lost inside the theatre’s old venue. Chief Executive Philip Aldridge says the theatre is “hugely appreciative of the ongoing support.”

Several auctions close this evening, although newer items will be added and some items may have their deadlines extended to accommodate international bidders. A full list of items can be found at http://trade.me/courttheatre or www.courttheatre.org.nz.
