Hollywood comes to UCOL
UCOL Fashion and Beauty students bring a touch of tinsel-town glamour to UCOL’s Atrium on Thursday night.
The Hollywood themed show is the culmination of 18 weeks intensive study for the thirteen Certificate in Fashion and Beauty (Level 1) students. It is their chance to showcase what they have learnt and created.
Fashion Lecturer and Show organiser Sheran Merritt says, “The students are working hard to be ready in time for the show. I am very impressed with their commitment.”
A Colourful Tees project and participation in the catwalk show forms part of the students’ assessment for their 18 week Fashion module. The Certificate in Fashion and Beauty includes four modules; hairdressing, beauty, fashion and careers and personal development.
In a Fashion and Beauty show first, the ‘UCOL Studs’ will model menswear from the Warehouse.
The students will exhibit their newly acquired skills in tie-dying in The Warehouse Colourful Tee category.
They will also showcase garments they constructed with materials from Arthur Toye Fabrics Ltd.
“They are looking forward to putting all the components of their fashion and beauty modules together into this amazing show” says Sheran.
