Muscle Car Mania at Pukekohe
Muscle Car Mania at Pukekohe
Central Muscle Cars will be on a mouth-watering V8 mega bill at the forthcoming Pukekohe 500K international race meeting on the 26/27/28 of October when it supports the V8 SuperTourers.
"CMC is not only a crowd favourite, but equally important is a very well organised category of motor racing. We are thrilled that they have confirmed their place on the grid on what promises to be the biggest domestic motor racing event in New Zealand since the inaugural Wellington street race. They are fast, fabulous looking cars that make the ground truly tremble and send shivers up your backbone each time they rocket down the hill at Pukekohe! They are a perfect fit for our own cars bellowing 7 litre's exhaust note," added Petch.
Dr John Elliott, president of Central Muscle Cars added: "We very much enjoyed running with the V8 SuperTourers at their inaugural race meeting, held at Hampton Downs, and our members are absolutely thrilled to be invited to the V8 SuperTourer 'monster' meeting at the end of October.
"Hopefully this will become an annual event, and will mark the start of the CMC series each year. The timing of the event in the last weekend of October and the venue suit us, so we could not be happier. As it stands at the moment we may well be oversubscribed, as I understand the circuit is limited to 40 cars and we have interest from Australia even at this early stage, including Paul Stubbers and his record-breaking ‘69 Camaro, the current Muscle Car lap record holder at Pukekohe.
"We'll be doing our bit to add to the international flavour of this event. You might say CMC are revved up and ready to roar," added Elliott.
"The V8 Challenge Cup cars will have their Series Final at the same meeting, so along with two other support class categories we are in discussion with the International Pukekohe 500, is shaping up to be a huge weekend all round," said V8 SuperTourers Managing Director Mark Petch.
