To celebrate the new release Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2012 The Waikawa Boating Club once again are organising the annual Wineworks Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc Yacht Race where between twenty to thirty keelboats and over a hundred hardy sailors will be racing over the Cook Straight
The race takes place on the 11th of October with all the yachts carrying a bottle of new release 2012 sauvignon blanc from Waikawa (Marlborough) to the Capital, where they will be competiting for the illustrious title of "The Fastest Yacht".

When all the yachts have arrived in Wellington there will be celebratory drinks and nibbles followed by a presentation to the winning yachts and wineries at Royal Port Nicholson Yacht Club.

This year on the 11th of October the luxurious super yacht ‘Pacific Eagle’ will carry wine writers and media to follow the race from Waikawa to Wellington.
