Train Statement on use of Marry Me
Recently it was bought to the attention of US band
Train
that the video for their song
‘Marry Me’ was being used on a website that is currently
campaigning against the
Marriage
Amendment Act 2012.
In response to messages from fans about this, the band would like to relay the following message:
“It was upsetting
to us that ‘Marry Me’, a love song with no boundaries,
was being used to promote an agenda we don't subscribe
to.
We (Train) take the idea of marriage very seriously, and believe it is the right of all consenting adults, regardless of sexual orientation. ‘Marry Me’ is about just that, finding that special love and making it last forever. Everyone should be allowed to have that.”
