Mission Estate wins multiple golds

Mission Estate wins multiple golds at
the New Zealand International Wine Show 2012

Mission Estate, New Zealand’s oldest winery, is also one of the most forward thinking. This year alone, they’ve opened their sustainable new winery, launched New Zealand’s first 500ml bottles of Sauvignon Blanc and Syrah, and made the biggest single vineyard purchase in Marlborough for several years.

Says CEO Peter Holley: “We are committed to sourcing fruit and crafting wines from the best vineyard sites in New Zealand. They are wines of special character, reflecting the best of their varietal characteristics and offering outstanding value.”

This approach is proving exceptionally successful, with Mission Estate winning ten medals – including three golds – at the New Zealand International Wine Show 2012.

Both gold medal-winning Pinot Noir wines are beautiful expressions of the Martinborough style. The recently released Estate Pinot Noir is robust and full-bodied, with an elegant reserve, complex forest floor aromas and a delicate lingering finish. The Estate is also very competitively priced at $15-$18.

The Jewelstone Chardonnay 2010 was hand harvested from Gimblett Gravels vines, then aged in oak for ten months. It’s a tight, focused Chardonnay with fine flavours and a clean minerality on the finish, and retails for $39.
