A Drum Roll Please: Four is Bringing You the Biggest Night in New Zealand Music

• The Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards, Thursday 1 November 8:30pm on FOUR
• Watch the awards stream and live chat about the ceremony at FOUR.co.nz.
• Watch the full show and performances On Demand at FOUR.co.nz from Friday 2 November.

On Thursday November 1, FOUR is bringing viewers all the action from the 2012 Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards at the Vector Arena.

FOUR’s coverage kicks off at 8:00pm with the The Mentos Red Carpet Special. Hosts Guy Williams (Jono and Ben at Ten) and Sharyn Casey (FOUR Live) bring viewers exclusive interviews with the who’s who of New Zealand music.

The Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards starts at 8:30pm. For the second consecutive year TV3’s comedic force Ben Boyce (Jono and Ben at Ten) and FOUR’s music and fashion guru Shannon Ryan are hosting.

The broadcast will include performances from some of New Zealand’s biggest artists including Kimbra, Gin Wigmore, The Black Seeds, Annah Mac, Six60, Home Brew and a special tribute to Legacy Award recipients Toy Love.

“I was pretty stoked to be asked to host the awards again. The only other thing I’ve hosted in the last year was a BBQ at my place, which no one showed up for,” Boyce says.

“There are some amazing performances from Kiwi musicians that are kicking ass all around the world. The only thing you have to put up with is a lame male host.”

A seasoned professional at hosting LIVE events, Ryan says she thinks this year will be the best yet.

“It’s my third year hosting and being able to work with Ben again is a real treat (he didn’t pay me to say that),” she says.

“Every year the awards are a mark in New Zealand’s music history, and the only way to be a part of it is to be there or check it out on the tele!”

Ged Mahony, Network Programming Manager at MediaWorks NZ, says:

“MediaWorks is proud to continue our ongoing relationship with the Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards as broadcast partner on FOUR.”

“The Awards are now the premium event in our music entertainment calendar and this year’s show will be bigger and better than ever before.”
Leading up to the big night the New Zealand public are also encouraged to have their say by voting for their favourite act. The Vodafone People’s Choice Award will be announced on the night. For more information on how to vote go to FOUR.co.nz.
Tickets to the live event are available through www.ticketmaster.co.nz and cost $25 including booking fees.
