End of Life Support
End of Life Support
As the population ages, there is increased focus on end-of-life issues. An important approach is the palliative care offered by hospices: care aimed at comfort rather than at cure. The ethos of hospice and palliative care is that it ‘intends neither to hasten nor to postpone death’
The guest this week In Conversation with Noel Cheer on Triangle Television is Jan Nichols, Chief Executive at Hospice North Shore and the Sir Roy McKenzie Guest Lecturer at next week's 20th Palliative Care Conference to be held in Auckland.
The Conference will attract health care professionals who have an interest in palliative care.
Triangle Television, Wednesday 7th of November at 8:00pm [note the later time due to US Election coverage]. It will be repeated on Thursday 8th of November at 12 noon.
